Kate Mercer is a visual artist that works across a range of media including photographs, video, collage and textiles, to explore cultural uses of photographs, particularly focusing on memory, identity and perception.

Kate's work is held in both private and public collections including that of Amgueddfa Cymru (National Museum Wales in Cardiff). She continues to develop and exhibit work on funded projects throughout Wales and the UK.

Kate is part of the team behind Celf Ar Y Bryn Casnewydd / Art On The Hill Newport– an open house and open studio arts trail on the west side of Newport. She is a member of Phrame Wales and helps run the promo-hour #ARTSNEWYDD as a part of Newport Community Artists Network.
