The Dolman theatre was built in 1966 and is run by Newport Playgoers Society who perform up to 9 plays a year. The theatre is run by volunteers. We have a youth group Dolman Theatreworks and the resident dance school is the Sharon Higgins Academy of Dance . Throughout the year all the amateur musical societies and local dance schools perform here together with a yearly Pantomime.
The theatre is also used for meetings and community classes during the day.
